Astronomy (Voyage Of Discovery)

Even on the clearest night, the human eye can only see about 3,000 stars. There are an estimated 100,000,000,000 in our galaxy alone! It is estimated that the number of stars in the universe is greater than the number of grains of sand on all the beaches in the world. In those optimal circumstances, you’re looking at around 2,500 stars at most. That’s about 1/100,000,000th of the total stars just in our own galaxy.On a clear night, we can see the equivalent of a handful of sand.

 

The talk includes interesting parallels drawn between the night skies, and the objectives of the specific group and their company; 

Naturally, Voyage of Discovery is conducted at night, with clear skies for viewing purposes through our telescopes. The success of Voyage of Discovery is dependent on both good weather and an interactive talk on the group’s specific interests, which we prepare beforehand and highlight on a slide presentation.
